Very cute little diner in Santa Monica! The breakfast was super good! Loved the pancakes and also the biscuits and gravy were great! The restaurant was busy but service was still quick! Would definitely recommend for a yummy breakfast or brunch!

We both had the 2+2+2 which which was excellent as always. Last November Rae's was purchased by Brixton (across the street) and there were a number of upgrades. They painted the outside same colour but it's looking very fresh. They built a new outdoor patio with they painted the outside, same turquoise color. They updated the patio with new tables, chairs and umbrellas. They now accept credit cards. The staff is the same warm staff they always had. Strong recommendation for and excellent breakfast!

If you like being treated like family and enjoy great comfort food. Prepared and served by loving family members! Come on Home to Raes! One of the last places left in Our City that can deliver a hot plate with a warm smile. Great Community Landmark!

This is a perfect little neighborhood diner. It will make you wish that you lived in Santa Monica. It has the retro look of an old school diner, complete with red upholstered booths. It also has a nice outside dining area that is partially shaded against the potentially brutal California sun. It looks like a place where some genius literary fiction writer might spend his mornings banging away on a mechanical typewriter. I.e., it is quirky and quaint. Better still, the food was excellent. And, in a show of absolute class, there was not one mixed fruit in the jelly trolley. It's all strawberry and grape, baby! Oh, and as a sign outside the establishment proudly proclaims, they now accept credit cards!!!

Here's a review you could leave: I've been a loyal customer at Raes for years, and while they recently changed owners, I'm pleased to say that the quality hasn't changed a bit. Today, I enjoyed my usual club breakfast with biscuits and gravy, which was as delicious and satisfying as always. To wash it down, I had their hot chocolate, which was the perfect complement. The service was exceptional, thanks in large part to a young Caucasian gentleman who was a breath of fresh air. He was incredibly friendly, always had a smile on his face, and was very attentive to all the guests. It's experiences like these that keep me coming back to Raes time and time again.

Still love this old-time diner with the classic feel, reasonable prices, fast & friendly service, and tasty food. They have seated service inside, and tables & chairs outside for dining, too. The pork chops & eggs is a favorite, but the chicken-fried steak is great, too. My new favorite is a new item on the board Spanish/Mexican steak & eggs, I think; comes on toast with mushrooms, onions, and chimichuri. Good omelettes, too. The Belgian waffle with strawberries is also very good, but the warm cinnamon roll really gets the morning going. They have funny prices which keep the penny alive. Plenty of street parking.

Great food at surprisingly low prices. The food would probably be a little better if they raised the prices but the angle is a lot of food, good atmosphere and dirt cheap. It took me two full sitting La to get through my last $11 meal. Thought the service was pretty good and they finally got rid of the silt cash only rule. Like that they kept the patio, parking is pretty easy to get even if it costs a couple bucks on Pico. It seems like nearly all recent negative reviews are about the ownership change. Times change and the place has to be profitable. Still a very nice experience!

They take credit card now. Parking is in the neighborhood or metered street parking The price and food quality are still the same. I think more young people know about the place and it has a hype now than when I went a year or so ago. The restaurant is crowded around 12:15pm on Sunday but we were seated immediately for a party of 5. Service was extremely fast, so did the food
